Why use LiveClass when Google Meet is already included?

If you only need people on a call, Meet is fine and it is already paid for. The reason to add LiveClass is the teaching layer: a shared whiteboard, breakouts, an ordered hand queue, attendance evidence, and streaming out to a public audience.

Can I keep using Google Calendar?

Yes. A LiveClass session is a link. Paste it into a calendar invite the same way you would any other meeting URL.
